UPVC Door Won't Lock

This customer in Radcliffe had a front door that they couldn’t lock at all, & had been using a very basic sash jammer to secure the door at night as a temporary solution. This is obviously a very serious security risk & couldn’t be left long.❌

We attended and found that the door had dropped out of alignment, causing the hooks to bind on the strike plate, which over time eventually lead to the gearbox failing.

We got the gearbox replaced & serviced the mechanism, before re-aligning the door to ensure that the hooks were engaging in the correct place, meaning this new gearbox should hopefully outlast the door!😁

We then recommended a new Euro cylinder, as the old one had definitely seen better days. The customer agreed and opted to have it changed on site, saving them even more money on future repairs & even possible lockouts.👌
