Auto-Locking Door Failure

Do you have an “Auto-Locking” Door?

This customer in Radcliffe contacted us as their “Auto-Locking” Composite Door no longer “locked” automatically - It was misaligned which had caused the gearbox to fail, meaning the latch no longer kept the door secure when they didn’t lock it fully with the key.

It had failed in a way that meant even a strong gust of wind would blow the door open😳. Our customer had returned home to their front door wide open more than once due to the wind blowing it open…🫣

When we got there, the door would literally just push open from the lightest touch when they hadn’t locked the door with the key (shown on the first video).

‼️ This brings us on to the most important part of this post - IF YOU HAVE AN AUTO-LOCKING DOOR, PLEASE ALWAYS LOCK IT FULLY WITH THE KEY! These doors don’t actually “lock” when you just close them behind you, the only thing securing the door is one single latch, which can be bypassed or forcibly opened without much effort, even for the dumbest of burglars. Don’t make it easy for the scumbags!🫡

We replaced the faulty gearbox & realigned the door so that it all works perfectly again. Meaning our customers house is now secure from burglars (or wind 💨) once again!😀
