Key Stuck Turned In Lock

This customer was unable to remove the key from their back door lock as it was stuck turned, subsequently meaning they couldn’t lock the door either.🔒😣

This is obviously a serious security concern, so we headed over as soon as physically possible to get it sorted for them.💨

We did some investigation and found that the cam follower inside the 20+ year old gearbox had broken, a small snapped piece had become lodged between the gears preventing the key from turning enough to lock or unlock the door.

Unfortunately these particular mechanisms are obsolete after over 20 years, making it near impossible to find an exact match. Despite this, we took some measurements and sourced the best possible replacement for the customer.👍

We replaced the full mechanism along with the strikeplate keep to ensure perfect compatibility & operation - Ensuring our customer won’t have to worry about issues with this door for a long long time!✅
