Mechanism Rebuild / Re-Timing & Re-Alignment

This customer in Harwood contacted us as their mechanism had failed (luckily in the open position!).

They gave it a good go at trying to fix it themselves, however couldn't reinstall the mechanism after removing it from the door & stripping it down; so made the wise decision to contact a professional.

We got the faulty gearbox replaced before reinstalling the top and bottom hooks back onto the strip, then got it fixed back to the door correctly before delving into finding the reason it failed in the first place.

The door had dropped on the hinges, causing the door to become misaligned, which in turn resulted in the hooks binding on the strikeplate; eventually causing the gearbox the fail.

Gearbox replaced, mechanism fully rebuilt, & a re-alignment left the door working as good as new!
