Composite Door Stuck Closed

This customer in Ramsbottom contacted us as their front door was stuck closed.

We arrived less than an hour after they contacted us and set to work diagnosing the issue, where we discovered that the gearbox had failed with the door closed. We worked our magic and got the door open before looking further into the issue.✅

However, we don’t just replace parts here at OpenDoor Locksmiths - There is always a reason behind parts failing & if we just replaced the broken gearbox, the new one would have surely failed in a much shorter time than it should.

We got the gearbox replaced & mechanism serviced before showing the customer why the gearbox failed; It was caused by the door being out of alignment, causing stress through the gearbox as the hooks were being forced against the metal strike plate.

The customer opted to have the door re-aligned to prevent any pre-mature gearbox failure, so we got the door set perfectly & its back to working like new!
