UPVC Door Re-Alignment to prevent the mechanism from jamming in the cold weather.

As the weather starts to cool down, you may notice some difficulty locking/unlocking your doors - This is completely normal & is caused by the material contracting due to the colder temperatures.

Despite being normal - It’s imperative that you get this looked at ASAP, as the longer you leave it, the more likely it is that you will need the gearbox / mechanism replacing.

The contraction causes the hooks / rollers to be out of alignment with the strikeplate, meaning that every time you use the door, you are causing a lot of stress through the gearbox, which over time will definitely cause damage.
